Approved State Stimulus and Rebate Check Programs

As the economy continues to struggle, many states have approved stimulus programs to help stimulate the economy and create jobs. These stimulus check programs are available to individuals and businesses in the state and can boost your bank account or help you recover from a difficult time. Here are four approved state stimulus check programs:

1. New York’s Rebate Check Program

This program provides eligible residents with checks worth up to $2,000 each. Businesses that employ at least 50 employees within the state are also eligible for the program, and each check is worth up to $4,000. The checks can be used for anything from groceries to new clothes. To qualify, you must apply through your state’s unemployment office and provide proof of identification and residency.

2. California’s Job Creation Investment Program

This program provides eligible businesses with grants worth up to $500,000 each. The money can be used for any purpose related to job creation, including advertising, wages, equipment purchases, and more. To qualify, businesses must agree not to lay off workers during the grant period and submit an application detailing their plans for creating jobs. Applications are accepted every week through March 3.

3. Oregon’s Economic Development Incentive Grants

This program provides grants of up to $125,000 each to companies that create jobs in low-income areas or meet other specified criteria. The money can be used for anything from advertising expenses to training costs associated.

1. Alaska: $3,200 Payments

Alaska is one of the states projected to receive a stimulus payment. The average check is $3,200, which will be sent out over the next several months.

2. California: Up to $1,050 Rebate

In addition to the federal stimulus program, many states provide financial assistance to their citizens. These state stimulus programs offer a variety of rebates and tax cuts, ranging from $100 in Oregon to $1,050 in California.

The rebates available vary by state, but most offer cash or checks worth at least $100. In some cases, people can receive payments for using eco-friendly transportation options or completing energy-efficient renovations in their homes.

Some states also offer tuition reductions or other forms of financial assistance to students and parents. In California, for example, residents can qualify for a rebate of up to $1,050 if they enroll in a college course or vocational training program.

3. Colorado: $750 Rebate Payments

Colorado residents can receive a $750 rebate check as part of the federal government’s stimulus package. The money will be deposited into residents’ checking or savings accounts within 60 days. Rebates are only available in Colorado and are limited to one per household.

4. Delaware: $300 Rebate Payments

If you live in Delaware, you may be eligible for a $300 stimulus check. Rebates are being sent out to residents of all 50 states and Washington D.C. as part of the Obama administration’s effort to stimulate the economy. Delaware’s rebate is worth $307, so if you’re eligible and want the money, you’ll need to fill out an application form and send it to your state or local government.

5. Florida: $450 Payments

With unemployment rates still hovering around 8%, many states are looking for ways to stimulate the economy. Florida is one of those states, and they have decided to spend $450 payments to residents in hopes of jumpstarting the economy. The money will be sent out over six weeks, which will provide recipients with a small financial boost.

Florida’s Economic Development Commission is running the program, and the payments are hoped to help people struggling financially. While there is no guaranteed way that the payments will lead to an economic revival, they are thought to be a step in the right direction.

While some may find the $450 payment small, others may see it as a valuable asset. Either way, it is hoped that the payment will help improve conditions for Floridians overall.

6. Georgia: $250 Rebate Payments

Georgia residents can receive a $250 rebate check from the federal government as part of the Stimulus package. The money will deposited into residents’ bank accounts within 60 to 90 days. To qualify, you must be a resident of Georgia and have an annual income below $75,000. This offer is only available through February 28, and the maximum rebate amount is $1,000.

7. Hawaii: $300 Rebate Payments

Hawaii is one of the states receiving a $300 stimulus check. In addition, Hawaii residents who have purchased a new motor vehicle during the past six months can receive a $1,000 rebate from the state. Residents who have unemployed for more than 26 weeks can also receive unemployment benefits for up to 12 months.

8. Idaho: $75 Rebate Payments

In addition to the $716 million in direct aid, states have started to send out rebate checks in tax credits or rebates. Idaho received a $75 rebate check from the federal government. The money will deposited into residents’ bank accounts and used for anything from groceries to home repairs.

9. Illinois: $50 and $300 Rebates

Illinois residents can receive a $50 rebate for each qualified electric vehicle purchase and a $300 rebate for each qualified plug-in hybrid or battery electric vehicle purchase. Rebates are available through December 31, 2009. These rebates are in addition to other incentives currently available in Illinois, such as the manufacturer’s rebate and the state’s 0.7% tax credit.

Electric vehicles have many benefits over traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. Electric cars are more environmentally friendly and produce zero emissions, which is important for reducing air pollution and climate change. The increased popularity of electric vehicles has led to increased demand for charging stations, and Illinois is ahead of the curve in creating an infrastructure for these cars. There are already more than 1,000 charging stations throughout the state, and this is projected to grow to 10,000 by 2015.

10. Indiana: $325 Rebate Payments

Indiana residents are set to receive a $325 rebate check from the state government. The checks will sent out beginning in early February, and each household will receive at least $100. The money is being used to help stimulate the economy, and it’s hoped that the rebate will encourage more people to buy items such as energy-efficient appliances and home improvements.

11. Maine: $850 Direct Relief Payments

Maine is one of the states that is sending out stimulus checks. The state is giving out payments of $850 to qualifying residents. The money will used for food, housing, and utilities. To qualify for the payment, residents must have an income below 150 percent of the poverty level.

12. Massachusetts: 14% Tax Rebates

In addition to the federal stimulus package, 14 states also send out stimulus checks. Massachusetts is one of them, and people in the state will get a check for $560 each.

The idea behind the stimulus check is that giving people money will help them spend more and create jobs. Massachusetts has already seen a decrease in unemployment, so the hope is that this money will help keep things going and help the economy recover faster.

Each state is doing something different with its stimulus checks. Some give them to low-income families, while others use them to upgrade public infrastructure like roads and bridges.

There’s no one right way to use these funds, so it’s up to each state to figure out what works best for them. But whatever they do, they need to try and ensure that everyone benefits from this economic recovery – not just those who already have a lot of money.

13. Minnesota: $488 Payments for Frontline Workers

In Minnesota, the state government is sending stimulus checks to nearly 180,000 workers as part of their effort to create jobs. The payments are worth $488 each and will sent out over the next few weeks. Each worker will receive a check for at least $100; some may receive as much as $1,200.

The state government uses its rainy day fund to pay the workers. Governor Tim Pawlenty said the payments would help create jobs and reduce unemployment. He added that the stimulus money would also help people already working find new jobs.

Minnesota is one of 11 states that are sending stimulus checks to workers. The other states include California, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

14. New Jersey: $500 Rebate Checks

New Jersey is one of the 23 states receiving $500 stimulus checks. The checks will mailed out to residents beginning in February. To qualify for the check, individuals must have an annual household income below 150% of the federal poverty line. Approximately 366,000 New Jersey households will receive a check this year.

15. New Mexico: $500 Rebates

New Mexico is one of several states that send out stimulus checks to residents. These checks are worth $500 each and will sent to those with low incomes or who require assistance. The state also gives businesses tax breaks to encourage them to create jobs.

16. Oregon: Direct Payments of $600

Oregon is one of the states that has decided to direct payments of $600 to its citizens to stimulate the economy. The state hopes this will encourage people to spend money and help create new jobs.

The state government is estimating that it will cost them about $2 million for the program, but they believe it is worth it because they believe it will have a lasting impact on the economy.

There are some limitations to the program, though, that recipients cannot use the money for anything other than necessary expenses such as food, housing, and utilities. And finally, recipients must be residents of Oregon.

17. Rhode Island: $250 Rebate per Child

Rhode Island is one of the 27 states receiving a $250 rebate per child from the Obama Administration as part of the stimulus package. This rebate will go a long way in helping families who may be struggling financially. In addition, Rhode Island has some excellent programs specifically designed to help children and their families. For example, the state provides free or reduced-price school lunches to qualifying children, helps parents obtain jobs and benefits, and promotes early childhood education.

South Carolina is one of those states, and they are giving out checks totaling up to $800. The purpose of these checks is twofold: to help people in need and to promote consumer spending.

19. Virginia: $250 Rebates

Rebates in Virginia are available for many items, including home improvement projects such as new roofing, caulking, or painting. The state also offers rebates of up to $1,000 for electric vehicles and $2,500 for solar panels. Having trouble making ends meet, Virginians may be eligible for food stamps or government assistance programs.
