Life and work of Savannah Daisley
Savannah Daisley is a multidisciplinary artist, working in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, and photography.
Born in San Francisco, CA, Daisley received her BFA from the City College of San Francisco in 2006 and her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2010. Her work has been exhibited in the Bay Area and beyond, including at the de Young Museum, the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, the Museum of the African Diaspora, the Oakland Museum of California, the San Jose Museum of Art, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History, and the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art.
Daisley’s work is often inspired by her mixed-race background and issues of race, gender, and identity more broadly. In her series “The Color of Distance,” she explores the experience of being a mixed-race person in a predominantly white society.
Daisley currently lives and works in Oakland, CA.
