With that being said, there are so many property management software options to choose from nowadays that the search for the right one might get overwhelming. 

In this article, we’ll be comparing two popular platforms, Innago and Hemlane. Hopefully, by the end, you’ll have a better idea of which one to choose for your business.


One of the most important things to consider when it comes to your property management software of choice is the cost. Innago and Hemlane have two very different pricing models.

Hemlane’s pricing is broken down into three plans. The first is the Basic plan, which costs $30 per month, plus $2 per unit, plus a $28 base fee. The Basic plan includes most of the foundational features of property management software, such as rent collection, tenant screening, and lease management.

The next plan is the Essential plan, which costs $40 per month, plus $12 per unit, plus a $28 base fee. This plan includes everything from the Basic plan but adds 24/7 repair coordination.

Lastly is the Complete plan, which costs $60 per month, plus $32 per unit, plus a $28 base fee. This plan includes everything from the other two plans but adds helpful features like access to maintenance professionals and local leasing agents.

Innago doesn’t have three different pricing plans. With Innago, you have access to every feature completely for free. That’s right, Innago is actually free to use. The way Innago makes money is by charging tenants small fees for certain services.

For example, when a tenant pays for a bill, they’re charge an additional $2 fee if they pay using ACH or an additional 2.75% if they pay with a card. As a landlord, you can take on these fees if you wish. Applicants are also charge $30 for a credit and criminal check or $35 for a screening report that also includes an eviction check. Finally, tenants have the option to buy renters insurance directly from the software (prices vary).

Key Features

Innago and Hemlane both cover all your bases when it comes to the essential features of property management software. Some of these include:

  • Tenant screening reports and tools
  • Online rent payments using ACH, debit card, or credit card
  • Digital leasing
  • A maintenance request portal
  • Tenant communication tools
  • Listing syndication
  • Financial tracking and reporting

Although both platforms provide these core features, reviewers tend to favor Innago’s features. Innago received 4.8 stars out of 5 on Capterra compared to Hemlane’s 4.7, and on G2, Innago earned higher ratings on all but two of its features.

Hemlane provides more agent-based features than Innago, so if you’re looking specifically for those, then Hemlane might be your better option. Otherwise, if you’re looking for better core features, you should probably go with Innago.


Both Innago and Hemlane are known for having user-friendly and navigable platforms. Innago scored a 4.8 for ease-of-use, and Hemlane score a 4.7.

With that being said, one of the drawbacks to Hemlane is its lack of a mobile app. If you ever need to manage your business on the go with a phone or tablet, you’ll have a much harder time doing so with Hemlane. Innago, on the other hand, has a mobile app that makes your business operations much simpler since you’re not restrict to using a computer.

Customer Support

Innago and Hemlane are both known for having excellent customer service, each one scoring a 4.9 out of 5 in this regard. Both platforms care about their clients by providing quick and effective email and phone support as well as training videos, helpful articles, and a live chat.


When comparing Innago vs Hemlane, it’s important to consider every component of both platforms. While Hemlane provides some helpful add-on tools, Innago is the better option when it comes to the main property management features. 

Furthermore, the affordability of Innago is impossible to beat. When a platform as good as Innago is also free, the decision should be a no-brainer.
